social justice. Each participant will choose a theme based on their personal interests and questions,
find a subject to interview, and use the information gathered to devise an original theatre piece.
Develop new skills related to playing with rhetoric for dramatic effect, upward inflection, and breath.
We will model our methods after the work of notable performers such as Anna Deavere Smith, Sarah Jones,
Nilaja Sun, and others.
Sigrid Wise is thrilled to return to ASF, one of her favorite artistic homes. She is an actor, singer, and
arts educator originally from Jackson, MS, and currently based in Atlanta, GA. Last summer, Sigrid
served on the High School Theatre Faculty for the Summer Arts Institute, a program for NYC public
school students focused on creativity and collaboration in their art form. Favorite credits include
Hermia, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Miranda, The Tempest (ASF); Juliet, Romeo & Juliet (Shakespeare Festival St. Louis); Christmas Past, A Christmas Carol (New Stage Theater). The film was accepted to multiple film festivals around the country, and she was awarded Best Actress at the Southern Short Awards. Graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy and Webster Conservatory.
ASF believes the concept of an InterGen (inter-generational) class provides a unique opportunity to build community and find value in various life perspectives. This course is appropriate for high school students (ages 16+), working artists, and lifelong learners of all skill levels.
